Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up alongside 12 other kids. Her imaginative mind helped her escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. Songs were written by her before she knew how to write or read. Once she had her first guitar at the age 8, she started to perform on local radio stations from Knoxville in Tennessee. The same year she released her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. In high school she made herself known to the local community, however her goals were bigger. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time, was in search for a girl to sing on his show. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo singles like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene oversold her collaborations. Parton recorded "I Will Always Love You" for Wagoner just after the pair split. The track was ranked the top spot at No. The first time a song reached No.
