Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the benefits of football scholarships and volunteerism in the community. First family he is the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. He played football with his three brothers for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in across the country. During his three-year tenure as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and won two national titles. A third scholarship saw him named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week during his time at college. After college, he moved to Tampa and played for nine years for Tampa's Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. Then he started his professional career. The year 1988 was the first time he began working as an Account Relation Manager for First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that the year 1982 was when The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs as a college player he played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he joined at the University of South Florida's athletic department as the associate director. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame recognized him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
